Our well-respected client is a long-established Townsville engineering workshop specialising in heavy diesel engine reconditioning, precision machining, and full component overhaul services. With a strong reputation across the mining, transport, agriculture, earthmoving and local government sectors, the workshop is consistently busy with varied and ongoing work.
This is a modern, well-equipped facility featuring advanced machining capabilities and computerised engine dynamometer testing. Due to continued growth and workload demand, they are seeking additional skilled tradespeople to join their team.
Positions Available
🔧 Engine Reconditioning Machinist
We are seeking a tradesperson experienced in, or willing to develop skills in:
- Cylinder block machining, repair and sleeving
- Conrod pin fitting and resizing
- Crankshaft grinding and linishing
- Cylinder head pressure testing and crack detection
- Valve seat insert replacement and valve refacing
- General precision machining within engine rebuilds
đźšś Heavy Diesel / Earthmoving Equipment Fitter
- Diagnosis, servicing and full component overhauls
- Work across earthmoving, mining and heavy transport equipment
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic ability essential
- Experience with hydraulic and drivetrain systems highly regarded
⚙️ Engine Dyno Technician / Operator
- Engine testing and dyno operation using modern computerised systems
- Performance, durability and post-rebuild testing
- Accurate data recording and interpretation
- Ensuring engines meet required specifications and standards

- Trade qualified or highly experienced in a relevant field
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and within a skilled team
- Willingness to learn and develop advanced technical skills
- Pride in delivering high-quality workmanship
